Sanding Sugar VS Sugar Crystals (Sparkling Sugar)

Sanding Sugar is a much finer grain (0.6 to 0.7 millimeters), while Sugar Crystals are much larger (0.65 to 0.75 millimeters), similar to the size of coarse salt. Both sugars consist of a larger crystal size than ordinary granulated sugar (0.3 to 0.4 millimeters).


Both Sanding Sugar and Sugar Crystals come in various colors and are quite sparkly, but Sugar Crystals will provide more sparkle due to its larger size. Both options are great for decorating because they won't dissolve with heat. They are perfect for decorating treats like cookies, cakes, cupcakes, cakesicles, scones, muffins, candies and more!


Bling up that drink! Both Sanding Sugar and Sugar Crystals can also be used to decorate the rim of cocktail glasses. Just use a lemon or lime wedge to wet the rim (or water) then pour decorating sugar into a shallow bowl wide enough to fit the glass and roll the rim gently through the sugar! What a fabulous way to make your party drinks fancy and festive!
